Registration is the price of the bonus and its scope is written by the operator
Direct answer
A sign-up bonus and a no deposit bonus are not synonyms, and the difference between them stands in the bonus document, which we did not open at our ten. What we can say about both is what you give for them: an account and your details. On the Slovak side of the market their scope is prescribed by § 31 of zákon č. 30/2019 Z. z.; outside it the operator sets the scope itself.
Two phrases, one document telling them apart
A no deposit bonus means your money does not enter the game. A sign-up bonus speaks only of when the bonus is credited — possibly the same thing, but possibly an offer that activates only with a first deposit.
Which of the two it is at a given brand stands in the bonus terms. That is a separate document and we opened it at none of the ten brands in our table, so you will find no sum and no wagering condition here. Why we admit that rather than copy numbers from advertising is in no-deposit bonus.
Every citation of § 31, § 33, § 36, § 80, § 85 and § 95 on this page comes from the version of the act in force from 1 January 2026. The English translation the authority itself offers is the version of 1 June 2019, and its numbering of the paragraphs of § 85 already differs.
What the act prescribes on the Slovak side
§ 31(1) of zákon č. 30/2019 Z. z. opens with a sentence ruling out a sign-up bonus without signing up:
A condition of a player's participation in an internet game is registration and a player account.
It then lists what the player submits: given name, surname and title; birth number, or date of birth; permanent residence or residence permit; nationality. These are details from a document, so § 33(1) adds the duty to require details from an identity card and a further document. Both, with § 32, are set out in registration without documents.
Two further subsections matter more for bonuses than they look. Subsection 2 says a player may hold only one player account with one operator, so a sign-up bonus is a one-off on the Slovak side and a second account no option. Subsection 3 says that after an account is closed the operator must return the player's balance of funds.
Both subsections have a contractual counterpart at foreign brands, only nobody prescribes it from outside. The one-account-per-person rule is common in the industry, and Empire.io adds in clause 5.4 that it may block or close an account if the details were untrue or misleading. PlayAmo states in clause 12 that it may lock an account until verification. A duplicate account and details that do not match are thus the two commonest reasons a bonus is cancelled before anything is paid out.
The fate of the balance after closure we did not follow at these ten and are not filling in. It is a field missing from our notes entirely, not one we found empty.
Who carries these obligations is written out in who holds a Slovak licence.
Outside the Slovak register nobody prescribes the same
A foreign brand is bound by neither § 31 nor § 32, so registration's scope, the accounts allowed and the balance's fate after closure are its own to write in its terms.
What they ask at account opening is said by three of the nine documents we read. The other six are silent, so an empty cell stays with them in the table. We opened no registration forms: we hold an account with no operator and will not open one. An empty cell means “we did not read it”, never “they do not ask”; how we handle that is in how we read documents.
The most coins of our ten: thirteen. The identity-verification clause sits in section 5, headed KYC/AML, and states no amount. Licence number ALSI-132405048-FI3 comes from Anjouan, and the company behind the brand is Cipher Games Ltd.
Three brands do speak of registration
Three different answers, standing against one another.
Bitsler, clause 4.3, is the loosest end: an e-mail opens an account. The same sentence reserves the right to ask for proof of age or identity at any time, to verify details entered at registration. A sign-up bonus arises here in a minute, but those details must stand up.
Rainbet says otherwise. Its terms tie verification to withdrawal, in clauses 5.2 and 8.3, yet its own AML document states that identity is verified at account opening. Two documents of one brand describe two moments and we do not reconcile them on its behalf.
Wild Fortune is the hardest case. Clause 18.1 says a player depositing in bitcoin must submit a valid document before play and has deposits and bets blocked until verification. A bonus without documents cannot arise there in this form.
The difference between the three sentences matters more than any sum, because it decides whether you take the offer up at all.
One thing does not change. Whether an account arises in a minute or a day, money leaves it through the identity verification clause, which nine brands of ten have. Its clause number at each is in identity verification.
What to read before registering, not after
You open the bonus document only with an account, but three things are public in advance.
- The restricted country list. It decides whether a payout comes at all. Nine brands publish one and Slovakia is on none; the detail is in foreign casino no-deposit bonus.
- The identity verification clause and its clause number. A sum stands in it at only two brands of ten.
- The licence number in the issuer's register. Verifiable with a third party, though silent about Slovakia; the detail is in foreign licences.
- The moment verification happens. Three of the nine documents speak of it, in three different answers, as set out above.
If one of those documents is not on a brand's site, that is an answer in itself, and one you get free and before a deposit.
Why the phrase is no synonym for a no deposit bonus
The two word pairs take turns in Slovak searches as if they meant the same, and in the documents they differ in one thing: what triggers the entitlement.
A no deposit bonus is tied to your money not entering the game. A sign-up bonus is tied to opening an account and says nothing of a deposit. An offer may be both, but need not be; what decides is a sentence in the bonus document we did not open.
What we can say about both lies elsewhere and is verifiable: where the clause on documents stands, how it is worded and when it triggers. Hence no comparison of bonuses on this site, but a comparison of the clauses deciding a win from them. Their numbers are written out in no-deposit bonus.
